Russia continues active negotiations with Iran on the purchase of short-range ballistic missiles, the newspaper reports.
The WSJ also reports that Moscow has already begun receiving missiles from North Korea.
If the negotiations between Moscow and Tehran end with the signing of an agreement, Russia can start receiving missiles as early as March, the newspaper’s interlocutors said.
True, American officials do not believe that the agreement has already been agreed.
“The United States is concerned that Russian talks about acquiring short-range ballistic missiles are actively continuing in Iran,” the WSJ quoted a US administration source as saying.
“According to our assessment, Russia is going to buy missile systems from Iran,” the source added.
In recent weeks, Russia has begun receiving various weapons from North Korea, including for the first time short-range ballistic missiles, several American officials confirmed to the WSJ.
“several dozens” of North Korean ballistic missiles have already arrived in the eastern regions of Russia, the publication says.
