30-year-old Debora Redden was charged with assault. After hearing from him, Judge Mary Kay Holthus denied a suspended sentence. The man then started attacking.
The recording shows him jumping over the judge’s desk and then disappearing behind him. Judge Holthus managed to dodge, but was slightly injured. The attacker was then overpowered by the guards.
Debora Redden has already served two sentences: for theft and domestic violence. The court where he works commented on the judge’s reaction. “We commend the heroic actions of the staff, law enforcement and all others who restrained the defendant,” it says.
