Two explosions kill more than 100 people near a cemetery in Iranwhere a ceremony was held to mark the anniversary of the death of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani, who was killed in a 2020 US drone strike in Baghdad, Reuters reported, citing Iranian media.
For now no one has claimed responsibility for the attackswhich can be turn out to be the worst in the history of the country, notes the Associated Press.
Vahidi specified that most victims died in the second explosion. “Our police force is vigilant and will bring to justice those who committed this crime,” he promised state television.

At least 103 people died and around 140 were injured in the attacks, which took place on the fourth anniversary of the death of Gen. Kasem Soleimani. It was the deadliest attack in the 45-year history of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to Iran’s Noor News Agency, “Several gas cylinders have exploded on the road to the cemetery and the relevant authorities are monitoring the situation.”. CNN reported that ambulances were on their way to the cemetery where hundreds of mourners had gathered.
