In the first 4 days of week 52 (25 – 28 December), the national average number of virus particles in the sewage water by 35% compared to the week before.
Last week, the share of participants with a positive corona test result decreased Infection radar(externe link), compared to the week before (3.4% to 2.6%)*. The number of hospital admissions of patients with SARS-CoV-2 has also decreased slightly compared to the previous week (daily average number of admissions from 165 to 141)**. Last week, an average of 784 patients with SARS-CoV-2 were in hospital; that is less than in the previous week (average 856 patients).
The figures for sewage water surveillance, infection radar and hospital admissions are less complete due to the holidays. But the number of virus particles in the sewage water, the Infection Radar figures and the number of hospital admissions show a decline in the last week of 2023.
