Slovak Hockey Player Tomáš Jurčo’s Conflict with Coach Goes Viral, Former Player Boris Valábik’s Comments on the Incident

Although Tomáš Jurčo is currently a player of the KHL club Avangard Omsk, still on New Year’s Eve, footage from his last match in the Swiss Davos jersey in the Spengler Cup final against the Czech Pardubice went around the world. The Slovak hockey forward got into a conflict with coach Josh Holden in the first period. Former representative and now TV expert Boris Valábik has commented on the harsh exchange of views.

“From my point of view, coach Holden’s reaction was over the line. In my opinion, the coach did not handle it properly in the given situation and completely overreacted. This is not common behavior even in the hockey world. After all, hockey players are also people, they have their own value, and according to the footage we have seen, it seems as if there is a lack of basic human respect between coach and player. I also had coaches with whom I might have gotten into a fight, but it was never this intense.” said for New Time Any one.

In the end, the meeting went well for Davos, and Jurčo was able to rejoice with the championship trophy in his arms at his farewell.
