NASA’s Perseverance Rover Sends Captured Images and Videos of Ancient River on Mars After 1000 Days

Robot artificial NASA, the perseverance rover, was finally able to send captured images and videos of the surface of Mars to Earth after 1000 days of tracking. This mission was initially to study various elements and structures on the surface Mars including the rocks so that it can find out data stored for billions of years, but this robot is also able to capture the atmosphere of the planet thanks to the 360 degree camera attached to it.

Reporting from scitechdaily (3/1), NASA revealed the location of its research in an area called Jezero Crater. This area is considered very suitable for collecting trace evidence from ancient times because it has quite a lot of samples that can be taken.

Apart from that, Jezero Crater is said to have been an ancient river, which may be evidence of the presence of living cells there. Therefore, NASA is trying to collect as many samples as possible so that they can be tested to prove this hypothesis.

The age of this ancient river is estimated to be 3.5 billion years old, but now it has dried up and only remains rocky soil with little water content in it. There is also an assumption that this ancient river used to not only flow water but also volcanic lava because of the unique soil structure conditions unlike sedimentation in general.

This robot’s journey is not over yet, because the Perseverance rover will still explore the surface of Mars to the west from its current location. The robot will try to trace the upstream of this ancient river in order to prove a number of hypotheses that have been made previously.
