The new ballot organized by the interim president, Lubin Ntoutoume, designates Mr. Obame Sima as the new president of the Gabonese Bar Association with a total of 92 votes out of 107 possible voters against 8 votes for Mr. Jules Obiang. The lawyers have once again come to show their attachment to seeing him at the head of the bar association in Gabon.
Indeed, he had been elected on January 6, 2023, but his election was finally canceled in April 2023, for non-compliance with article 59 relating to the organization of the elective general meeting at the Bar, including in particular the breaches formal, linked to the display of the list of candidates. This following a request submitted to the General Law Commission by certain lawyers including Maître Moubembe.
Note that after the election of Mr. Obame Sima on December 27, Mr. Jean-Paul Moumbembe announced that he had filed a new referral for annulment to the Council of State and to the Committee for the Transition and Restoration of Values (CTRI) .
