Next year we are setting a new focus!
We celebrate the triple dignity of being baptized and confirmed.
The dignity of proclaiming/prophetic calling, the dignity of healing/priestly calling and the dignity of leading/royal calling. At the table with Mary Magdalene means that the celebrants bless the bread and food that is shared with each other after the celebration. A new “communion of communion” with equal dignity is emerging. This will be documented photographically with the consent of the celebrants.
Sequence
In front of the church door there is an exchange about how the celebrants live their triple dignity! At the same time, send a signal of solidarity: against the abuse of power and psychological and physical violence. Remembering everyone whose callings are ignored and the diverse discrimination against queer people. In the chancel, women and men enter a ceremony room. The celebrants bless the food. They do this in the awareness of their triple dignity as baptized people.
Images of a church of equal value are generated through photo documentation. Afterwards there is a celebration: bread and all other food are shared.
When?
The “Table with Mary Magdalene services” will take place between May and September 2024. The celebrations no longer have to take place on the 22nd of the month. This gives the parishes the opportunity to combine “At Table with Mary Magdalene” with a Sunday service, the patronage, the introduction of new altar boys, etc.
Exception: The service on July 22nd, Solemnity of Mary Magdalene, remains on the same date.
History
Since July 22, 2019, Mary of Magdala celebrations have been taking place in front of the church door as a sign of solidarity with all people who are discriminated against, patronized and their dignity violated and devalued in the church. Celebrated 54 times since then in Aargau, but also in the canton of Bern and the canton of ZH in the footsteps of Mary of Magdala.
One Website was created on which flyers, pictures and church services were documented and made available to anyone interested.
