Sounded a false burglar alarm
The police in Colorado Springs in the state of Colorado initially responded to a report of a burglary on December 19. At the front of the family’s home, they found Singler injured along with the children.
According to the police, Singler and the 11-year-old were treated for injuries at the scene before being taken to hospital. The cause of death of the other two children is not known.

Singler was treated as a burglary victim and reportedly cooperated with the police before she suddenly disappeared on December 23. She and her daughter must have been hospitalized for several days before being discharged from the hospital, writes news agency AP.
The mother of three was not under surveillance because the police initially thought she was a victim herself. It is not known how she got out of the United States.
Afterwards, local police stated that the burglary report was false – called in by Singler himself.
Custody conflict with ex-husband
The daughter (11) who survived is said to be on the road to recovery and safe in Colorado Springs.
The 35-year-old and her ex-husband are said to have been involved in a long-standing parental dispute over custody of the children.
The false burglary report is said to have come on the same day that a judge had ordered the police to track down her children after Singler had failed to take them to the children’s father – Singler’s ex-husband.
According to the ex-husband, following the agreement, she should have taken the children to a police station for a pre-arranged visiting arrangement on 16 December, but failed to attend. As a result, she had to appear in court a few days later.

Instead, she called in what the police believe was a false burglary alarm after killing and injuring her children.
The Times references a statement from Singler’s family:
– Our focus is on God and his glory and our surviving niece. We hope everyone remembers that innocent people are involved in this and that our only goal is to protect her, says the family in the statement.
They further ask for prayers “for healing and peace” for all involved as they seek answers to what happened.
