Many people wonder what will happen to Nintendo when Miyamoto retires. For now, the game designer reassures fans and says that there are no such plans.
In an interview with The Guardian, Miyamoto said he worries about passing on his legacy to younger Nintendo developers, but has no plans to retire despite being 71 years old.
“More than retiring, I think about the day I fall. Nowadays you have to think about things five years in advance, so I think about who I can hand over to if something happens.”
Miyamoto added that he has no intention of slowing down and wants to spend the next few years continuing to work at Nintendo, helping to create new experiences and experiment with different forms of entertainment.
