Météo France has placed Paris and the whole of Île-de-France on yellow alert for strong winds and rain this Tuesday, January 2. Gusts of up to 100 km/h and moderate rainfall are expected in the region, potentially causing disruption.
Weather Paris: Strong winds and rain approaching the capital and its region
According to the forecasts of Meteo France, a southwest wind will blow over Paris and its little crown in the second part of the night, with gusts of up to 65 km/h. These squalls will be accompanied by rain.
Tuesday late morning and early afternoon, the wind will strengthen significantly. Gusts going up to 75 km/h are expectedThen 95 km/h at the end of the day.
In parallel, Heavy rainfall is forecast from 10 a.m. until the evening, around 7 p.m. Given the soils already saturated with water, this rain presents a risk of localized flooding.
61 departments on alert throughout France
In total, 10 departments have been placed on orange alert and 61 on yellow alert by Météo France, including 8 in Île-de-France. The meteorological institute indeed predicts a significant rainy episode in the northern half of the country.

Call for caution
Given the violent winds and rain forecast, the greatest caution is required in Île-de-France this Tuesday. Météo France recommends avoiding travel and walks in the forest, and putting away objects likely to be blown away by the wind.
