BMKG Predicts Rainy Season in Indonesia: Tangerang City Urges Clean and Healthy Lifestyle to Prevent Comorbidities

The Meteorology Climatology Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that Indonesia is starting to enter the rainy season, including Tangerang City. As the rainy season enters, the Tangerang City Government, through the Health Service, urges all Tangerang City residents to adopt a Clean and Healthy Lifestyle (PHBS). Considering the presence of various comorbidities in the rainy season.

Head of the Health Service, dr. Dini Anggraeni revealed that the most common comorbidities that occur in the rainy season are influenza, Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF), diarrhea, skin diseases, and even leptospirosis. He also appealed to the people of Tangerang City to continue implementing PHBS in their daily lives.

“These diseases are very common in the rainy season. Around us, there may already be people starting to have fevers, accompanied by flu and coughs. So, PHBS is one way to anticipate so that our bodies stay healthy. Get enough rest, consume balanced nutritious food, “Consume fruit and vegetables, drink enough mineral water, exercise and take vitamins if needed. Don’t forget to always check the cleanliness of our house so that it doesn’t become a nest for mosquitoes, especially Aedes aegypti,” he said, Tuesday (02/01/24).

He continued, apart from implementing PHBS as an effort to prevent dengue fever, the community must also implement One House, One Larva Monitor (Jumantik). So, every house can check places that have the potential to become mosquito nests without waiting for cadres or officers to arrive.

“We have to start from our own homes to become Jumantik. So, our families and homes are safe and our environment and neighbors can also imitate and implement the same things to become Jumantik,” he continued.

Dr. Dini also appealed to the people of Tangerang City to immediately go to the nearest health service facility if they experience symptoms of fever or other illnesses. “Please visit the nearest health facility to get treatment from health workers. Hopefully, in this rainy season we will all be protected from various diseases, and continue to apply PHBS every day,” he hoped.
