- The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will be revealed to us in just a few days
- The novelty will reportedly be able to record video in 4K at 120 fps
- Only a handful of phones, such as the flagship Xperia, offer this option
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is certainly one of the the most anticipated flags of 2024 and I personally expect quite a lot from her. I’m looking forward to the titanium (and thus slightly lighter) body, but also the software features and I’m curious to see how the phone will deal with the absence of a 10x telephoto lens. I’ve been using my current Ultra for a few months now and use this lens every now and then. We already know almost everything about all three mobile phones, and now we leaker Ice Universe boasted another important piece of information.
Although we cannot expect any revolutionary changes from the camera system, we can find a few of them here. One of them should be the possibility of filming 4K videos at 120 frames per second. At the same time, only a handful of mobile phones can do this, for example the flagship Xperia from Sony or the recently introduced Nubia Z60 Ultra. But it is not yet clear whether it will be possible to record these videos using all cameras, or whether Samsung will keep the function only for the main sensor. However, the phone from ZTE supports 4K/120 for all sensors except the selfie camera, so it would theoretically be possible.
So the South Korean giant pays at least some care to the video, which I like to hear and I wonder if the new Ultra will finally be able to match the iPhone. This year’s model already shoots video very well, dramatically better than the Galaxy S22 Ultra, but the apples are still a bit further in this direction. The official unveiling will happen soon January 17th.
Will you appreciate the possibility of recording in 4K at 120 fps?
