Intense Rains Causes Multiple Cesspool Rescues in Córdoba, Argentina

After the intense rains in the city of Córdoba, some neighborhoods were more affected than others. The Córdoba Police reported that they had to rescue 5 people who fell into three cesspools in different parts of the city.

In the Mariano Fragueiro neighborhood, three women, ages 72, 46, and 28, fell into a cesspool after the floor of the patio where they were found gave way. An emergency service was established on site to assist the victims; fortunately they did not have to be transferred to a medical center.

Another case occurred in the Pueyrredón neighborhood. On this occasion the victim, an 83-year-old woman, had to be transferred to a clinic in the area since she had an open fracture in her right leg.

The last case occurred on the morning of January 1 in the Yofre H neighborhood. Personnel from the fire department rescued a 54-year-old woman who had fallen into a three-meter-deep septic chamber.

Subsequently, an emergency service assisted the victim, not requiring her transfer.
