Colorado Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert told Steve Bannon that “dark money” from “Hollywood elites” forced her to change districts as she runs for re-election to the House of Representatives.
Speaking on Bannon’s “War Room” podcast, he named Barbra Streisand and Ryan Reynolds as contributors to the man who would have been his Democratic opponent in his original district, Adam Frisch.
“[My opponents] “They don’t have policies that they’re running on (in CO-3), they’re just running against Lauren Boebert,” he said.
“The money comes not only from Aspen, but also from Hollywood. “When Barbra Streisand donates to the Democrat, when you have Ryan Reynolds donating to the Democrat, that shows that Hollywood is trying to buy her way into Congress,” she said of Hollywood’s support for Frisch.
But while Boebert claims that “nearly $10 million has been invested in this district to buy this seat,” Strereisand only donated $1,000 to Frisch’s campaign in April, while Reynolds donated $500 in March, according to the Federal Commission. Electoral.
“We have to take down the Hollywood elites who are trying to buy my current district. Nearly $10 million has been invested in this district to buy this seat. Colorado’s 3rd District is not for sale. But with my announcement in the 4th District, that shut down the dark money that was flowing into our district,” Boebert told Bannon.
He previously criticized both the “Evergreen” Oscar winner and the “Deadpool” star for backing Frisch. In November, he said his opponent “is heavily funded by dark money from Soros and even Hollywood liberals like Barbra Streisand and Ryan Reynolds,” according to Business Insider.
Meanwhile, Boebert has changed districts to one where she will replace outgoing Republican Rep. Ken Buck. California Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters recently said Boebert’s redistricting strategy will fail.
“It would be saying that we are not capable of representing the districts in which we started, and now we want to change and we are looking for something else,” he told MSNBC. “Maybe we would be elected in a different district, but Boebert will not be elected in a different district.”
Waters brought up Boebert’s notorious groping scandal at a production of “Beetlejuice” in September.
The California representative added: “Even if she goes to a new district that is more conservative, I think the conservative members of those districts will understand that they don’t want to serve someone as their representative because of what she is carrying. to his children”.
