SANTO DOMINGO, RD.- The director of the National Police, Major General Ramón Antonio Guzmán Peralta, and the Cattle Ranchers’ Board agreed on a series of measures to strengthen security in livestock areas and protect the country’s beef production.
The informed official and the ranchers also discussed various aspects of common interest in terms of security.
The meeting that took place in the director’s office was attended by José Mallén, Fernando Hued, Manuel Russo, Rafael Omar Landestoi, Cristian Antomarchi, César Rosado, Alexis Alonso, Cristian Olivo and José Santiago.
The highest authority of the law enforcement institution committed to providing better security in livestock areas and carrying out a support plan for the benefit of each of these beef production areas in the country.
One of the proposals of the board of directors of the cattle ranchers’ board is the development of strategies against land invasions in the majority of livestock areas, by unscrupulous people.
In that sense, Major General Guzmán Peralta reminded them that there are laws that protect private property, which empower the Police to act.
“If (the unscrupulous) are found inside the property, they can be arrested without the need for the presence of a prosecutor or be directed to any detachment, to be brought before justice, as long as they have their complaints,” explained the senior officer. .
In the end, the representatives of the livestock board thanked the general director of police and expressed confidence that they will resolve all their concerns.
