1. Enable disappearing messages
Use the disappearing messages feature to automatically delete all messages after a set time, an excellent option for protecting privacy in sensitive conversations.
To activate, go to Settings > Privacy > Default message time and select the desired time.
2. Enable end-to-end encryption for backups
Ensure your backups are also end-to-end encrypted. This adds an extra layer of security to your data.
In Settings > Chats > Chat Backup, turn on End-to-End Encrypted Backup.
3. Block confidential chats
To ensure extreme privacy, lock specific chats with a password, preventing unauthorized access to these messages. Open the desired chat, tap the contact’s name, select “Block chats” and confirm.
4. Silence calls from unknown numbers
Protect yourself against potential threats by silencing calls from unknown numbers, an effective measure against possible identity theft attempts.
Go to Settings > Privacy > Calls and turn on “Silence unknown callers”.
5. Protect IP on calls
Reinforce privacy during calls by activating the option to protect the IP address, which makes it difficult for hackers to trace. In Settings > Privacy > Calls > Advanced, enable ‘Protect IP address in calls’.
By adopting these simple tips, you can strengthen the security of your WhatsApp messages, ensuring a more protected experience free from unwanted intruders.
