Given the increase in covid cases, the municipality of La Paz makes six anti-covid vaccination points available to citizens. The sites have two types of Pfizer doses and are located in “Auxilio La Paz 167”, in the municipal hospitals La Merced, Los Pinos, La Portada, Cotahuma and La Paz. Immunizations can also be found in the 67 health centers of the municipality of La Paz.
According to the Director of Health, Pamela Berríos, children who turn five years old – and who are vaccinating for the first time – must receive three doses. After the first dose, you must wait 21 days for the second and the third must be applied six months later. Then, like the rest of the population, vaccination against covid will be once a year.
The application of anticovid is carried out from Monday to Friday in the municipal hospitals of La Merced, Los Pinos, La Portada, Cotahuma and La Paz, as well as in the 67 health centers of the municipality of La Paz.
In the Municipal Prehospital and Emergency Care System Auxilio La Paz 167, vaccinations are administered 24 hours a day and from Monday to Sunday. The municipal point is located on Wenceslao Argandoña Street, steps from Simón Bolívar Avenue, said the coordinator of this municipal area, Patricia Mancilla.
At all points, two types of doses of the Pfizer Bivalent Covid-19 vaccine are administered, to children from five to 11 years old and to the population from 12 years of age and older. It is a booster vaccine that is applied once a year.
“It is a booster vaccine against Covid-19, so called because it contains two protective components that allow a better immune response of the body against an infection. The first protects you from the original virus and the second protects you from the omicron and EG variant lineages. 5 (Eris) that predominate in the world,” Mancilla explained.
People interested in receiving doses of the inoculant must present a photocopy of their identity card and, in the case of minors, the consent signed by their parents and a photocopy of their identity card.
