Hackers reportedly stole $82 million from the Orbit Bridge project, a cross-chain protocol service, just three hours before the start of the new year.
In a post on December 31, user officer_cia also posted similar information.

According to data from blockchain analytics platform Arkham Intelligence, hackers appear to have obtained $81.68 million in illegitimate funds.
Five of the coins stolen by the hackers included $30 million in Tether (USDT), $10 million in USDC, $21.7 million in Ethereum, $9.8 million in Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC), and 10. Millions of dollars in DAI, all coins transferred to a newly created wallet.
It is understood that the Orbit Chain protocol has strong links to the Klaytn (KLAY) network, a modular Layer 1 blockchain, according toinformationAccording to Klaytn’s Block Explorer, the 8 largest assets on the Klaytn network by market cap are all wrapped on the Orbit Chain.
