To this book
Stinginess and luck, greed and luxury, power and status, vanity and narcissism, poverty and lack are facets of the gold and money rush that has been going on for centuries. Focused exclusively on increasing money, a few people accumulate more and more money into ever higher money towers. Private assets (cash assets, luxury goods) are beyond our imagination. But: Does money also make you happy? Do they just serve as a substitute for other passions? How do being rich and having money affect human well-being?
The contributions in this anthology provide differentiated answers to these questions. Sociologists, psychologists, economists, bankers and educational scientists, happiness researchers and entrepreneurs express themselves from very different perspectives on the “value of money” as a “measure of value”, on “money as a bringer of happiness” and on the “responsibility” that comes with owning money connected is.
