Over 230 Arrests Made in Berlin New Year’s Eve Disturbances, 15 Officers Injured

More than 230 people were arrested during disturbances during New Year’s Eve in Berlin, German police reported on X. Fifteen officers were injured.

Emergency workers were pelted with fireworks in various places in the German capital. At the Neptune Fountain, five hundred people threw fireworks at each other and at the police.

In the Neukölln district, in addition to fireworks, Molotov cocktails were also thrown at officers.

Berlin Mayor Kai Wegner said he would take tough action against rioters on New Year’s Eve. A year ago, there were also riots and attacks on police officers and emergency workers in Berlin on New Year’s Eve.
