Lorenzo Lucca did not succeed at Ajax, but is considered the goalscorer at Udinese this season. He has scored five goals in Serie A so far this season. He spoke to Football Italia about his development.

The striker was still active at Ajax last season, where the adventure for him did not turn out as hoped. It mainly consisted of raids, when Ajax still had to force something. “I have had two negative experiences, also with injuries, so I hoped that things would go well at Udinese,” said the attacker, who scored twice in the Eredivisie and six times for Jong Ajax in the Kitchen Champion Division.
“After playing in the youth academies of Torino and Brescia, I went to Palermo in Serie C,” Lucca continues. “I thought I was going down in level, but in fact I had just started climbing. I learned new things and scored fourteen goals in Serie C.”

Lucca is helped in his development. “By someone from Turin, someone who believes in me. Together we analyze my match images. The goals, but also mistakes. I also look a lot at how Erling Haaland moves. He has a similar physique to me, although he is left-footed. I try to learn from his movement in the box. You have to focus on the ball, the goal and the defender.”
