An official familiar with the transfer market reported that Lee Min-ah is transferring to Real Betis Feminas in the first division of the Spanish women’s professional soccer league. Her contract period was six months, and her salary was known to be the highest in the team. Currently, Lee Min-ah only has her local medical tests left.
Lee Min-ah is the third Korean female player to play in Spain after Jang Seul-gi (Gyeongju KHNP) and Lee Young-ju (Madrid CFF). Seulgi Jang played for Madrid CFF in 2020, and Youngjoo Lee has been playing on the Spanish stage since December 2021.
Lee Min-ah, who debuted in the WK League at Incheon Hyundai Steel in 2012, made a name for herself by playing for Kobe Ainak in the Japanese women’s soccer Nadesco League for two years starting in 2018. Lee Min-ah, who later returned to Hyundai Steel in 2020 due to an injury, took charge of the team’s midfield until last season and led Hyundai Steel to a combined 10 consecutive wins.

Lee Min-ah also participated in the national team at the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games and the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Lee Min-ah, who formed the golden midfield with Ji So-yeon (Suwon FC Women) and Jo So-hyun (Birmingham City WFC), played an active part with 17 points in 79 international matches.
Meanwhile, Minah Lee’s new team, Betis, is currently ranked 12th (13 points) out of 16 teams in the league. With 19 games remaining in the season, there is only a 6-point gap with 6th place Sevilla FC Femenino. They are relatively comfortably ahead of the relegation zone (15th-16th place) by 10 points.
