Spartak Moscow Renames Stadium to LUKOIL Arena

Moscow “Spartak” on the evening of December 31 announced the renaming of its home stadium, which previously bore the names “Otkritie Arena” and “Otkritie Bank Arena”. Now the stadium will be called LUKOIL Arena.

The club’s statement reads:

LUKOIL has been providing invaluable support to our club as a title sponsor for more than 20 years, and last year the company acquired 100% of the shares of Spartak and the red-and-white stadium in the North-West of Moscow. For the third decade now, the name LUKOIL has shared the central place on the Spartak uniform with the legendary cross stripe.

Let us remind you: initially the Spartak stadium, which was put into operation in 2014, was named “Otkritie Arena”, and since 2021 it has been called “Otkritie Bank Arena”. The agreement with Otkritie Bank on stadium naming rights expires at the end of this year.

During its existence, the stadium hosted not only Spartak matches in Russian tournaments and European cups, but also World Cup games, the Confederations Cup, and became a venue for concerts of iconic musicians.

Renaming the stadium to LUKOIL Arena is part of the company’s long-term strategy to develop Spartak’s club infrastructure.

We are convinced that under the new name our house will become even more comfortable, more modern and will help Spartak achieve new big victories!
