Today, the 31st (New Year’s Eve), the atmospheric conditions are extremely unstable from western Japan to eastern Japan on the Sea of Japan side, with rain clouds and thunderclouds covering the area from the mountain range to Hokuriku. Today, the 31st (New Year’s Eve), two low pressure systems are moving eastward in the Sea of Japan, and another low pressure system accompanied by a front is moving along the southern coast of Honshu. Warm, humid air flows toward low pressure systems and fronts, and cold air flows into the upper atmosphere, making atmospheric conditions extremely unstable.
As of 1:00 p.m., rain clouds and thunderclouds are covering the mountain range and Hokuriku region. Thunderclouds can be seen developing in some areas, and lightning strikes are also occurring.
