The government has decided to modify articles 1, 2 and 3 of n°0051/PR/MTL of January 12, 2015, on the age of importation of used vehicles into Gabon. According to the Council of Ministers, the draft text aims to revitalize the used automobile sales sector and the economic and commercial environment associated with it by raising the age of used motor vehicles imported into the Republic. Gabonese.

In application of the text indicated, the maximum age of any vehicle imported into the Gabonese Republic is increased to ten (10) years. This decision is consistent with that of the countries of the Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC), of which Gabon is one of the six member countries.

Remember that a few months ago, the Committee for the Transition and Restoration of Institutions had first pushed back the age of these imported vehicles to 8 years compared to 5 years as was done under the era of the former president Ali Bongo.
