Kodim Commander 0724/BoyolaliLieutenant Colonel (Inf) Wiweko Wulang Widodo, regretted the case of abuse carried out by members of the TNI Battalion 408/Suhbrastha against a number of volunteer Candidates for President-Vice President, Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md. This case is currently being handled by Denpom IV/4 Surakarta.
“I convey that the case of abuse is true and the perpetrators were several members of Yonif 408/Suhbrastha,” said Lt. Col. (Inf) Wiweko Wulang Widodo in a press conference at the Boyolali Military Command Command, as quoted from detikJateng, Sunday (31/1/2023).
Wiweko revealed that the number of victims of abuse by TNI personnel was confirmed to be 7 people. Two people are currently still undergoing inpatient treatment at Pandan Arang Regional Hospital and 5 people are outpatients.
“Currently there are still two people undergoing hospitalization. Hopefully their condition will recover quickly, they will recover as soon as possible,” he explained.
Wiweko explained that TNI members who were carrying out their activities were disturbed by the sound of the exhaust pipes of passing campaign participants.
“Then, several members spontaneously left the dormitory and headed to the road in front of the dormitory. In order to find the source of the sound of the motorbike rider’s long exhaust, to alert the motorists by stopping and dispersing. This resulted in abuse of the motorbike rider with the long exhaust,” he explained.
