Some people save money and go on a diet after the Christmas holidays, but in the center of Prague on Friday afternoon it was completely full, everywhere. In cafes, restaurants, arcades and in shops of all kinds.
A large number of people were also seen in fast food restaurants. “We are always full, but our sales are always a little higher at the end of December. It has been true for many years. Even this year. More guests now also come for breakfast in the morning,” a cashier in one of the fast food restaurants told the PrahaIN.cz editors.

The largest accumulation of population could be seen at the Christmas markets on Wenceslas Square, where it was literally head to head. From the wooden wine cellar with the inscription “Czech Christmas”, German was heard, and another group of guests enjoyed genuine Brno hantes. In addition to Czech, one could hear French, Russian, English, Portuguese and Hebrew among the stands. Foreign tourists made up approximately half of the visitors. A stallholder selling small pine wreaths also found a few customers.
Beer burritos
Most people headed for the hot food stalls. There was a long line at the famous trdelniki, where a group of about fifteen Japanese tourists were happily munching on each other as they gathered for the fragrant grill. All the tables at the stalls with charcuterie, mulled wine, cheese, mead and liqueurs were full. Literally, there were breakfast sandwiches, intestines, sausages, sausages, the famous beer burritos, roasted chickens, potato dumplings with smoked meat and cabbage, and other specialties.

A large number of visitors were in clothing stores. The most people were seen in the three-story department store of a well-known Irish discount fashion chain. Crowds of shoppers could also be seen in other shopping centers and stores. Judging by the frequency of people at the checkouts, there was no indication that the Christmas sale had taken place just five days earlier.

The eager horse pulls
It was also alive in the bowels of the legendary Lucerne Palace. Local restaurants and cafes were full of guests, there was a smaller queue at the cinema box office and numerous groups of Czech and foreign tourists were enthusiastically taking pictures of the famous statue of the no less famous sculptor David Černý, which is suspended from the ceiling in the arcade. Even the famous pastry shop and cafe near Myšák opposite Lucerně was filled to capacity. The queues for the treasures were in the lower part with the cafe and on the first floor, where there is a shop with a huge selection of desserts and sweet and savory pastries.
