There is one place in the world where the New Year comes the earliest. And these are not the Pacific islands of Tonga, Kiribati or Samoa, but… Gabrovo, Nova reported. Why are there already seven New Years in the City of Humor?
The locals jokingly say that the reason is that the people of Gabrovo always want to be first. And there is a very prosaic reason, and it is connected with the famous frugality of the inhabitants. On December 30th, the contractors’ fees are slightly lower than on December 31st.
Apart from the humorous interpretations, the people of Gabrovo welcome the new year and send off the old year 2023 with a concert by Vlado Mihailov of the groups P.I.F., “Ostava”, Rewind.
