The Toronto Raptors, club of basketball world champion Dennis Schröder, and the New York Knicks, club of Isaiah Hartenstein, are swapping players. RJ Barrett (23) and Immanuel Quickley (24) are moving from New York to Canada within the NBA. In return, OG Anunoby (26), Precious Achiuwa (24) and Malachi Flynn (25) are going from the Raptors to the Knicks. Toronto receives a second-round pick from New York for the next draft. The two NBA clubs announced this on Saturday.

“Immanuel is a young, talented playmaker who we believe will make a splash on both ends of the court,” said Raptors club boss Masai Ujiri. About winger Barrett’s move to Canada, Ujiri said: “Seeing him in the Raptors jersey will be a special moment for our fans and all Canadians.”
Barrett currently has an average of 18.2 points per game in the North American Basketball League. The winger is considered a solid three-point shooter. Quickley is averaging 15 points per game so far. Anunoby is considered one of the best one-on-one defenders in the NBA, while Achiuwa came off the bench for Toronto this season. Anunoby has been playing in Toronto since 2017 and was part of the team that won the title in 2019 – now the task awaits him in New York.
The Raptors remain outside the playoff ranks. The team from Canada lost 118:120 (53:68) to the leaders Boston Celtics on Friday (local time). 32 seconds before the end of the game, Boston’s Luke Kornet scored for the decisive 118:116 lead. Toronto’s regular playmaker Schröder started the game from the bench for the second time in a row and had 15 points and nine assists.
