The actor, who was best known for his role as Gerald Cooper in ‘The Full Monty’, died suddenly earlier today. The news was announced by his family, and was confirmed in a statement from his manager: “It is with great sadness that the family of Tom Wilkinson announce that he passed away suddenly at his own home on December 30. His family was with him and requests privacy.” Wilkinson is survived by his wife, Diana Hardcastle, and their two daughters, Alice and Mollie.
Tom just held a reunion with his ‘The Full Monty’ colleagues Robert Carlyle and Mark Addy in a program of the same name on Disney+. He was nominated twice for an Oscar: once for ‘The Bedroom’ in 2001, and once for Best Supporting Actor in ‘Michael Clayton’ in 2007.
