Cristiano Ronaldo Makes History with 600th League Game Goal

Cristiano Ronaldo reaches the goalscoring mark in his 600th league game

When he scored the third goal in Juventus’ 3-0 win over Spezia on Tuesday, Ronaldo became the first player to score at least 20 goals in more than one of Europe’s top five leagues in the last 12 consecutive seasons.

Ronaldo’s rival Lionel Messi has already scored 19 league goals this season and is on the verge of breaking the 20-goal mark for the 13th time in a row with FC Barcelona.

Alvaro Morata and Federico Chiesa scored the first two goals for Juventus before Ronaldo, who had hit the post in the first half, completed a counterattack in the final minutes of the game.

This result leaves Juventus in third place in Italy’s Serie A, seven points behind leaders Inter Milan.

“We didn’t get off to a great start, which is normal when you play every three days,” said Juventus coach Andrea Pirlo after his team took an hour to score the first goal.

“We tried to control the game and created a few chances in the first half. In the second half, thanks to some fresh faces, we were able to pose more threat and change the game, with the wingers and midfielders making good runs into the penalty area.
