Will we be able to fly to Paris from Rodez after January 19? For the moment, it is in any case impossible to answer this question. So, many Aveyron residents – and more particularly the local economic fabric, the main user of this line – are worried.
Because this date marks the last day of the public service delegation between the Amelia airline and the Airport Joint Union, 70% financed by the Department of Aveyron. It is currently impossible to book a ticket the day after this date.
And the situation is not expected to resolve in the coming days. When contacted, the Department did not wish to disclose more information to us on this subject. “We prefer to communicate when we have all the tangible elements at our disposal,” says President Arnaud Viala. “We are currently working diligently on this issue.”
Good or bad news ? Several hypotheses seem to emerge. Among them, a temporary extension with Amelia would be considered, which would allow time to wait before launching a new call for tenders.
In any case, the company founded by Alain Regourd did not participate in the first, only the Chalair aviation company responded favorably, and its application was unanimously rejected by the joint union. In the meantime, time is running out, an answer regarding the future of this line should be provided in the first days of January.
