Happy end of year celebration to the students of the Education and Training inspections of Pété and Podor. 130 of them were awarded prizes during a day of excellence organized in Donaaye-Taredji. The Minister of National Education, Dr Cheikh Oumar Anne, sponsor of the event, offered several gifts consisting of school supplies, digital tablets, reprography equipment to the winners and to education and training structures.
Par Bade SECK – The populations of Podor gave a popular welcome to Dr Cheikh Oumar Anne, sponsor of the first edition of the Festival of Excellence organized by the Education and Training inspectorates of Pété and Podor.
The Donaaye-Taredji elementary school, which hosted the awards ceremony, was the rallying point for the school’s stakeholders and partners. The objective of this initiative is, according to the Saint-Louis Academy inspector, to reward the students who have distinguished themselves the most during the 2022-2023 school year and to encourage healthy competition between them.
The sponsor, Dr Cheikh Oumar Anne, was very pleased with the initiative. He invited the educational authorities of the district to perpetuate this action to encourage students in their studies. “I accepted the sponsorship request to celebrate with you the students who have distinguished themselves, the dedicated teachers and the committed partners. By choosing the artist Baba Maal as guest of honor, I wanted him to be a witness as a representative of the Alpulaar community of the world, but also to offer the students a model of success, a light of Pulaar culture,” said explained the Minister of National Education.
The sponsor also did not fail to galvanize the recipients. “You bring certainty to the authorities, you bring honor to your families, you create emulation,” he said.
He congratulated all partners for their support and support for the education sector. The mayor of Ndioum, in his speech, informed of the construction of a scientific and technical block (Bst) whose work is currently underway. He also announced the construction of a National Integration High School for Quality and Equity (Lineq) in Ndioum, and the first stone will be laid by Macky Sall during his next economic tour in the locality.
In total, 130 students from Ief de Pété and Podor received packages consisting of school supplies, tablets and bicycles. Reprographic material was given to the various education and training structures. The vocal lead of Dandé Lénol enlivened the audience with a beautiful musical performance.
