An ATM in Amstelveen was the target of an armed robbery last night. The damage to the facade is extensive.
The robbers targeted a Geldmaat next to a supermarket on Van der Hooplaan. Local residents heard three loud, dull bangs around 4:30 am.
The explosions blew out the facade and destroyed several lamps. Even buildings across the street were damaged.
The police cordoned off the area around the ATM for investigation. Explosives experts from the police and defense arrived on the scene. It is unknown if anything was taken.
Last week, an ATM in Osdorp was the target of an ATM attack around the same time. There was also a lot of damage then.
