Russian Defense Ministry Announces Downed Ukrainian Missiles and Drones in Belgorod and Bryansk Regions

The Russian Defense Ministry said its air defense units had destroyed 13 Ukrainian missiles over the southern Belgorod region. The district governor said there was one dead and four wounded, Reuters reported.

The governor of Bryansk region, also in southern Russia, announced the downing of six Ukrainian drones.

The ministry said in a statement that units in the Belgorod region thwarted “an attempt by the Kyiv regime to carry out a terrorist attack” by shooting down 13 rockets.

The governor of the Belgorod region bordering Ukraine, Vyacheslav Gladkov, announced that one man was killed when a house was hit. Four people are in hospital with injuries. Ten homes were damaged, the water supply in the city of Belgorod was disrupted, he specified.

The Ukrainian armed forces published a video on Telegram, which they say shows the sky above Belgorod, in the background of which at least one burning building can be seen, BTA reported.

The governor of Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, reported six downed drones in what he called “another thwarted Ukrainian terrorist attack.” Bogomaz said there were no injuries.
