Pro-Palestinian Demonstrations in Lower Manhattan and Airport Protests: Calls for Ceasefire and End to US Funding

Pro-Palestinian demonstrations continue here in our city and in other parts of the country. Yesterday in Lower Manhattan, a group of protesters took to the streets, calling for an end to the attacks on the people of Gaza.

Participants carried loudspeakers and signs, and released smoke of various colors, calling for a ceasefire as they gathered in Zuccotti Park. They also called for the United States government to end funding the war.

Meanwhile on Wednesday, pro-Palestinian protesters briefly blocked entry routes to the airports in New York and Los Angeles, snarling traffic.

Demonstrations stopped cars outside John F. Kennedy International Airport where some travelers departed on foot to avoid the congested highway as well as Los Angeles International Airport. Police said 62 people were arrested in the two protests.
