SEPA RIB Setup: A Solution for Policyholders to Set Up RIB in SEPA Zone – Successfully Processed

Before starting I would like to mention that this post is not a question but a SOLUTION for policyholders wanting to set up their RIB in the SEPA zone (generally refused according to the forum and my personal experience)

As a reminder, the SEPA zone covers the member countries of the European Union, the member countries of the European Economic Area, as well as Switzerland, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino and the Vatican (this solution will be useless for a RIB domiciled outside this area)

As I write this post my RIB has been successfully processed

The first step (if you have not already done so) is to write a letter to your Caisse Principale d’Assurance Maladie containing the following request:
Setting up your SEPA RIB AND upgrading computerized services (AMELI) in accordance with current European laws (EU Regulation No. 260/2012 of March 14, 2012)

To support your letter you can also mention that

  • Monaco is part of the RIB Supported by Ameli and the establishment of other domiciliations is also part of the law
  • It has been MORE than 10 years since this law was put in place and the CPAM should have complied with it
  • that in the event of refusal/ignorance, a procedure will be launched within the Defender of Rights in accordance with the law

This letter is not intended to add your RIB but allows you to have a written record (usable in the event of refusal for the rights defender who will undoubtedly take charge of your case)
