– Our air defense shot down several rockets over Belgorod and the Belgorod region as they approached the city, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said in the Telegram messaging service on Friday evening.
He stated that a man was killed when a house was hit and that four people were injured. Ten private homes were damaged and the water supply in the city of Belgorod was disrupted, according to Gladkov’s information.
In another statement, Russian authorities stated that “an attempt by the Kyiv regime to carry out a terrorist attack” was thwarted in Belgorod and that 13 rockets were shot down.
The Ukrainian Defense Ministry posted a video on Telegram, which the Ukrainian military said showed the sky above Belgorod and at least one building on fire.
In the Bryansk region, “another Ukrainian terrorist attack was averted”, says governor Aleksandr Bogomaz there. He says six Ukrainian drones were shot down and no one was killed or injured.
Belgorod and Bryansk regions both border Ukraine.
