The hostess of a party in Moscow with the theme ‘Almost Naked’ has been fined 100,000 rubles by the judge, just over 1000 euros. Popular actress, presenter and influencer Anastasia Ivlejeva had previously tearfully apologized for her role in the controversy.
The party was organized a week and a half ago in a nightclub in the Russian capital. Well-known faces from the Russian entertainment world were challenged to appear as scantily dressed as possible. That meant underwear or see-through clothing, rapper Nikolai Vasilyev only wore a strategically placed sock.
When images of the celebration emerged, people talked about it as a shame, because the bacchanal was seen as inappropriate, especially in wartime. Among the critics were conservative politicians and bloggers promoting the Kremlin’s views.
Images showed what happened at the party:

Many of the prominent attendees publicly broke down. Ivlejeva said she regretted that “things have gotten out of hand” and vowed to donate the money she made from ticket sales to charities. Singer Lolita Miliavskaya defended herself by saying that it had been a tough year and everyone wanted to blow off some steam. “But it went wrong.”
Popular singer Filipp Kirkorov swore that he had not known what kind of party it was. “There are times when you walk into the wrong door,” was his defense. “I have left.”
The apology could not prevent sanctions against the partygoers. Milyavskaya says that performances have been canceled and Ivlejeva disappeared as the face of a telecom company. The New Year’s Eve programming was also said to have been hastily adjusted to keep disgraced artists off the air.
Stocking not finished yet
In addition, there are several lawsuits pending about the party. Rapper Vasilyev was already sentenced to a fine of 200,000 rubles and 15 days in prison because of his sock outfit, for misconduct and ‘gay propaganda’. Ivlejeva could have received five years in prison for her charges, but she gets off with a fine.
However, her fine is not the end of the matter for Ivlejeva: angry citizens have sued her for moral damage and are demanding that she transfer 10 million euros in damages to a war fund that supports the fight in Ukraine. The judge will rule on this later.
