Chairman of the PPP National Election Winning Body (Bappilu), Sandiaga Uno said that PPP fighters had been processed for sanctions following their declaration of support for presidential and vice presidential candidates number 2, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka. However, he didn’t want any hostility.
“Indeed, there were several statements that were conveyed. Well, of course, as an organization that enforces the rules, we will impose organizational sanctions in accordance with the regulations. The PPP fighters have been processed and there has been a firm statement from the Chairman of the Assembly, namely Mr. Rommy, and that will be implemented,” said Sandiaga, in Sukabumi Regency, quoted detikJabarFriday (29/12/2023).
“But I always say that in every contestation of democracy, we must not add enemies, the reality of democracy is that we are committed to supporting Mr. Ganjar and Prof. Mahfud,” he continued.
Sandiaga did not want to predict the impact of PPP Fighters’ support for Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md. However, he is sure that support for candidate pair number 3 will have no effect.
“I will not predict (the influence). I am very optimistic that it will not affect the vote attainment of Mr. Ganjar and Prof. Mahfud, the target is to increase optimally and enter the second round,” he said.
Furthermore, Sandiaga said that sanctions against PPP fighters would be in accordance with the party’s mechanisms. His party supports several steps to discipline the party, including the dismissal of cadres involved in supporting Prabowo-Gibran.
