An interesting crowdfunding dig has started on Kickstarter.
That is “The Retro Gaming Watch” below. This is a small folding game console, but as the name suggests, you can wear it around your wrist as a watch.
It is removable, and when not playing games, it functions as a clock, as shown below, and when playing games, it can be removed, folded open, and played.
The display is a 1.54-inch (320 x 320) LCD, and it has dual ARM Cortex-M0 processors, 1.5MB of internal memory, and 8MB of RAM.
In addition, it is equipped with 4 buttons, a cross key, a monaural speaker, an acceleration sensor, and a magnetic sensor.
Since it is equipped with Efinix T20 FP, it is equipped with a custom core that emulates the core used in many 8-bit and 16-bit game consoles, and even with slow processors, much of the emulator part is processed by FPGA. This is a mechanism to ensure speed.
It is also equipped with smart watch functions such as displaying smartphone notifications, sending and receiving messages, and interlocking with smartphone apps.
The initial version currently under development has a battery life of about 2 to 4 hours for gameplay, and up to 2 days when using a watch.
This is currently under development, including the case design, and the functionality, performance, materials, and quality will depend on the amount of funds raised through Kickstarter.
Shipping is scheduled for November 2024, and is available on Kickstarter. This pageWe are currently crowdfunding for $179.
