Feyenoord has put its scouting apparatus to work beyond continental borders. That way is a winger Taryck Tahid came on the club’s radar and was convinced: he will land in the Netherlands in January to start working at Feyenoord.
Tahid is originally a left winger who can also play as a right winger and as an attacking midfielder. He was born in Canada and has Ghanaian dual nationality. The 16-year-old winger is currently under contract with Vancouver FC, for which he has already scored three goals.
Canada’s youth international is known as the youngest professional signing ever in the Canadian Premier League. Never before has a player at his age played so many minutes in the Canadian league, where he is considered to be the future record sales player.
Tahid recently played with Canada at the Under-17 World Cup in Indonesia, which was eliminated early. Initially, Tahid will do an internship at Feyenoord: his first day of internship is scheduled for January 8. He previously completed internships at New York Red Bulls, FC Midtjylland and Villarreal.
