Protesters Demand End to Gaza Fighting and Release of Hostages in Israeli Occupation: Haaretz Report

The protesters demanded an end to the fighting in the Palestinian enclave, the release of hostages held captive in the Gaza Strip, as well as an end to the Israeli occupation, Haaretz newspaper reports.

According to the publication, several hundreds of young people from cities adjacent to the Gaza Strip took part in a protest in Jerusalem in front of the parliament building, demanding the release of the hostages.

Palestinian militants took more than 200 hostages in southern Israel on October 7.

A month ago, 105 hostages were released during the ceasefire.

According to Israeli information, 130 hostages are still being held in the Gaza Strip.

People in Israel regularly protest against the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, accusing the government of not doing enough to secure the release of the remaining hostages.
