– This is one of the worst things I have ever driven, says professional driver Tommy Stub to VG at 00.30 on Friday night.
He drives a lorry loaded with propane on the E6 between Sarpsborg and Moss.
– This is life-threatening. If you brake here, you go straight around. It’s absolutely horrible if I slip here, he emphasizes.
Subzero temperatures and rain are causing problems on the road network in Østfold. Stub himself drives between 40 and 50 kilometers an hour on the motorway, he explains:
– It’s like driving on a mirror plate, he says.
The Road Traffic Center East warns against driving:
– We understand that it is frightening for those who are out on the roads now. With rain and cold, it is clear that it will be slippery, says traffic operator Trude Lindstad to VG.
At 00.30, she states that salting has started on E6 throughout Østfold and Follo – in addition to E18.
At the Sollikrysset on the E6 near Sarpsborg, a truck train has run off the road, the police and the Road Traffic Center at X say. No one was injured.
The northbound lane and the Eidet tunnel are closed after the exit.
