Kayamkulam: During the renovation of the National Road, the drinking water supply pipe burst and water entered the houses and the road. The pipe burst near Premier Junction which is the district border. Due to this, the national highway and roadside houses were flooded. The people living on the road were unable to go out due to waterlogging. There was a traffic jam due to waterlogging. As part of road development in Krishnapuram gram panchayat 11th ward, J.C.B. The pipe in the Japan drinking water project broke when it was dug.

Drinking water supply in wards 11, 12 and 13 of Krishnapuram gram panchayat was completely stopped after the main pipe burst. Water dams formed in front of businesses. Due to this, the work of constructing the protective walls of the national highway was stopped.

It also affected water supply in some areas of Ochira Gram Panchayat. Residents of the area said that they informed the Water Authority authorities but no one looked back.

Although pipe bursts related to national road development are common, this is the first time that a major pipeline burst and water was wasted to such an extent.

Along with the national road upgrade, the old pipelines will also be replaced. The necessary pipes have been laid on the national highways.
