At the annual Kenshiki forum in Brussels, Toyota showcased the Sport Crossover Concept, a preview of a new battery electric model that will join the company’s electrified car lineup by 2025. Featuring an aerodynamic shape and expressive fastback lines, the upcoming model will be a very special addition to the Toyota BEV range.
It will be an attractive proposition for first-time EV buyers and a stylish alternative to SUVs. It offers maximum comfort combined with the practicality of a five-door body, a large trunk and ample legroom for rear passengers.
The Sport Crossover Concept was first presented in April this year at the Shanghai Motor Show. It was developed by BYD Toyota EV Technology Co. for both the Chinese and European markets. Ltd. (BTET) is a joint venture between Toyota and BYD in China.
In line with its multi-pronged strategy, Toyota envisions a future where carbon neutrality will be achieved through the introduction of a product portfolio with advanced alternative fuel and zero-emission drive technologies.
In Europe, Toyota plans to introduce six BEV models by 2026. A diverse portfolio of electrified products will help the company move toward the goal of offering only zero-emission cars by 2035 and achieving complete carbon neutrality by 2040.
