In the period from 17 to 23 December 2023, the Instituto Nacional da Criança-I NAC, through the SOS-Criança Reporting Service, which operates on telephone number 15015, received a total of 90 reports of violence against children throughout the country. country, with cases of sexual abuse being highlighted among the others.
In this particular case, a case shocked Benguelense society, due to the fact that out of the total of 68 reports there was one of sexual abuse against a minor under 8 months of age, allegedly carried out by her 19-year-old father. According to the INAC report, presented by the spokesperson for this institution, Rosalina Domingos, the case took place in the municipality of Ganda.
The victim, an eight-month-old child, was sexually raped by her 19-year-old father, who is already in detention, while the victim receives medical assistance in a serious condition. This case, which shocked that province, is part of a total of 68 reports received by SOS-Criança in the province of Benguela alone, with one case of attempted kidnapping and eight cases of sexual abuse, which occurred in the municipalities. from Benguela, Lobito, Chongoroi, Bocoio, Caimbambo and Ganda.
The case of attempted kidnapping occurred in the municipality of Chongoroi, where a mother was transporting her son, under two years of age, in a travel briefcase, heading to the province of Uíge, without the parent’s consent. The situation caught the attention of the police forces who, after the arrest, learned that the Provincial Court of Benguela judged the case and granted provisional custody of the child to the father.
After the province of Benguela, with the highest number of reports, is Luanda, which received a total of 63, with emphasis on cases of sexual abuse of minors. In this field, the new case was registered in the municipality of Luanda, urban district of Rangel, where an adult citizen sexually abused male children, aged between seven and eight years old.
“According to the complaint, the same lady sent the children to buy sugar and forced them to lick her genitals. The citizen is already detained at one of the Rangel police stations,” she said.
