Macedonian international midfielder Eljev Elmas moved from Napoli, Italy, to RB Leipzig, on a four-and-a-half-year contract.
The German club issued a statement confirming that Al Jeff Almas will join Leipzig from Naples on January 1.
The 24-year-old player signed a four-and-a-half-year contract until June 2028 and wears shirt number 6.
He added, “The midfielder will join the training camp in La Manga, the southeastern coast of Spain, with the rest of the team’s players on January 2, 2024.” According to some media outlets, the Almas transfer deal amounted to 23 million euros.
Almas, of Turkish origin, played 55 international matches with the Macedonia national team and scored 12 goals. He scored two goals this season with Napoli, which has been defending its colors since 2019, coming from Fenerbahce.
Almas played 143 matches in the Italian League and scored 14 goals. He won the Italian Championship last season and the Italian Cup in 2020 with the “Princes of the South” team.
Almas said, “Moving to the German League and RB Leipzig is a dream for me.”
