Starting from the exhibition that is currently on display about the art collection belonging to the Official College of Architects of Cantabria under the title “Small large museum of contemporary art of Cantabria”, a series of discussion tables have been organized around art and architecture.
The second of them, which they now present with the motto “Art and Collecting. Binomial of importance”, aims to vindicate the importance of collecting, both public and private, and also the need to adopt rigorous criteria and a clear objective when creating a collection, in addition to always keeping in mind the optimal maintenance of its collections and correct cataloging so that the collection is known and valued to the right extent.
In it, in addition to Moses Castrodean of COACan, and Luis Alberto Salcines and Raúl Reyes, curators of the exhibition currently on display at its headquarters, will participate Juan Antonio González Fuentes, current General Director of Culture and Heritage of the Government of Cantabria and a good connoisseur of collecting, Jaime Sordo, owner of the Los Bragales Collection, president of the Association of Private Collectors of Contemporary Art 9915 and one of the greatest disseminators of private collecting in Spain, and Fernando Zamanillo, historian, art critic and former gallery owner, who currently forms part of art advisory commissions for important public collections in Cantabria. All of them will speak and converse with the audience about the collecting both institutional and private and its sociological aspects, its current situation in Spain and particularly in Cantabria, and the art market associated with it.
